The Armillary Sphere, in addition to being an important ancient instrument linked to astronomy and used in the first navigations, is also a symbol of Portugal, and is present on the Flag. The manufacturing process, in addition to involving glassmakers, also involves another art associated with glass: lapidary. The lines that run through the glass were created by a master lapidary with many years of experience.
